A Blessing Bestowed

If there is one thing I have learned from my God-fearing grandmother, it's how to judge others without sounding judgmental. All you have to do (I hope your notebook is out) is follow whatever you're saying with 'bless their heart.' I can just hear her now: "That young woman down the street has quite the questionable lifestyle! All hours of the day I see her comin' and goin', and dressed in the most frightful costumes! Bless her heart." Today in an email to Leslie, I described someone I know as "totally awesome, in that heavily-prozac-whacked, rocks-when-she-talks, it's-all-about-her-therapist's- new-revelation-about- her-father kinda way." And then in my head, I heard my grandmother's voice: "Bless her heart."

It sounds like paranoia, but it's true: "You're guilty, but I forgive you!".
