Day 2: the Birthday Girl

At Saturday’s party, Az introduced her friends to each other by playing a little game called ‘wing woman,’ in which she described her friend as through she were introducing them to a guy in a bar. For example, Az might say to us, “Meet Lila! She’s a biochemist who enjoys jazz music and long walks on the beach. She has the gift of gab and is easy to get along with.” This method of introduction was awesome, as you get both an idea of the person you were meeting, and in a fun context. So now I shall play wing-woman for Annelies as I did not get the chance on Saturday.

When she’s not working towards her masters in poetry, traipsing through the New England countryside wrapped in vintage scarves and wool peacoat, she’s traveling around the country and beyond attending fancy food shows and representing her wildly successful tea company, Mighty Leaf.
